IAPWE Review: My Firsthand Experience

  I’ve always been a freelancer at heart. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been the driven, self-starter type who prefers to carve out her own path in life. This story begins when a friend of mine who has been writing articles as a side gig told me about one of her clients, the  IAPWE . The International Association of Professional Writers and Editors. Yea, it’s quite a mouthful, I know. She said she thought of me because I love to write and because I also have a lot of weird, specialized knowledge on topics that most people don’t. I have a semi-strong background in the medical/science niche but I also really just love writing about anything that interests me. I’m a nerd! As a part of the process of deciding whether or not I even wanted to apply, I did a cursory review of the IAPWE’s pay rate, which I will cover in the next section. Working With The IAPWE: A Guide For Freelancers

 I am always on the lookout for the best resources for freelance writers. Since I started this career path, I have found many scams, rip-offs, and headaches. Recently, I was introduced to the International Association of Professional Writers & Editors (IAPWE). This is a service dedicated to finding quality job openings for freelance writers. In the “About” section on their website, they are dedicated to bringing writers “the most updated, legitimate and vetted writing and editing job opportunities.”  Hopefully, with IAPWE, there will be less of these scams, rip-offs, and headaches. APPLYING TO WRITE t was hard to avoid applying to IAPWE, as they were advertising all over the place. I came across their ad seven or more times after I had already applied. This made me laugh, but also made me wonder if I was about to get scammed. This is always a fear, especially when the application is a blank form with no information about the company.
